AK Azad re-elected chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank

AK Azad has been unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited in its 217^th meeting of the Board of Directors held on 10^th June 2015 at the Boardroom of the Bank. In the same meeting, Alhaj Mohammad Younus and Alhaj Md. Abdul Barek reelected unanimously as the Vice Chairmen of the Board of Directors of the bank.

Reelected Chairman Mr. A. K. Azad is the Managing Director of Ha-Meem Group of industries, a renowned and largest industrial Group in the country. He also President of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) and Former President of FBCCI.

One of the most important entrepreneur and successful businessman Mr. A. K. Azad was born in 1959 in a respectable Muslim Family in Faridpur. After received Honors Degree in Applied Physics from University of Dhaka then he concentrated in Business. He engaged in Jute, Textile, Tea and Readymade Garments Industry and his contribution creating employment situation in the country is praiseworthy which supplement the economic development. Mr. Azad also the Managing Director of Channel 24 and the Daily Samakal. Mr. A. K. Azad is involved in social and public welfare institute for a long time.       

Reelected Vice Chairman Alhaj Mohammad Younus was born in a respectable Muslim family in Munshigonj District in 1958. Renowned industrialist and businessman Mr. Younus has a long and creditable business experience for about two decades and engaged in Papers, Fabrics and Cold storages industries. Mr. Younus is the Managing Director of Sobhan Ice & Cold Storage Ltd., Younus Filament Industries Ltd., Younus plastic Industries Ltd., Younus Cold Storage Ltd., Quality Accessories Ltd., Ananta Paper Mills Ltd., Younus Fine Paper Mills Ltd., Younus Spinning Mills Ltd., Sonali Paper and Board Mills Ltd., Sharif Cold Storage Ltd., Younus Newsprint Mills Ltd. and Younus Offset Paper Mills Ltd. He is also Director of NTV. He engaged in many Social and Cultural Organizations since a long time.

Reelected another Vice Chairman Alhaj Md. Abdul Barek was born in a respectable Muslim Family in 1960 at Matlab Upazila in Chandpur District. He started business after completion of his education. Md. Abdul Barek is a Sponsor shareholder of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. and Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Limited. He is the Proprietor of Arju Electronics, Jony Electronics and Rony Electronics.
