City
Bank has recently been named the ‘Best Bank in Bangladesh’ for the year 2015 at
Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence for the second time. Euromoney’s prestigious Asia Awards are seen
as the benchmark for the leading firms in financial services in the region, and
are fiercely contested across numerous markets and categories.
The
award was announced at an Award Ceremony in Hong Kong recently, which was
attended by leading figures from banking and capital markets across Asia. City
Bank’s DMD & COO Mashrur Arefin along with Head of Brand Nazmul Karim
received the award on behalf of the Bank.
In presenting the ‘Best Bank in Bangladesh’
award to City Bank, Euromoney in its citation said, “City Bank wins the award
for the second straight year and again is the standout performer in its field.
Profits after tax, return on assets, return on equity were all outstanding
performances whilst the bank’s market capitalization jumped 30% in the 12
months to December 2014 thanks to its healthy mix of clients and services –
