Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah Re-appointed as EXIM Bank Managing Director

Managing Director of EXIM Bank Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah gets re-appointment for his second span from (July 25, 2015) after successfully completing his first phase of 3 years.

Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah started his banking career in 1984 as a Probationary Officer. Afterwards he joined EXIM Bank in 2000 as Vice President. Subsequently he acted as Branch Manager and Head of different Division in Head Office of EXIM Bank. He promoted as Deputy Managing Director in 2008 and Additional Managing Director in 2011. He then appointed as Managing Director of EXIM Bank on July 25, 2012.

Dr. Miah completed his BSc and MSc from Dhaka University and MBA from London Institute of Technology and Research. Then he obtained PhD from American World University, California on “The Role of Marketing on Financial Performance showing differences between the Traditional and Islamic Banking in the context of Bangladesh”.

Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah achieved ‘Game Changer of the Year- 2015’ award from UK based online News Portal ACQ5, ‘Most Talented Islamic Banking Professional (CEO)-2014’ award from CMO ASIA, Singapore, Best Quality Leadership Award from European Society for Quality Research, Switzerland, ‘Best MD in Bank- 2014’ award from Biswabidlaya Parikrama, Mother Teresa Gold Medal and Swadhinata Sangshad Gold Medal in recognition of his success as Managing Director.

Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah participated in liberation war in 1971. He wrote several books on Islamic Banking and economics along with his column and article in national dailies. He also is a Guest Speaker of various university and Bank’s Training Academies.

Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah attended many training and banking seminar in USA, UK, France, Germany, KSA, Portugal, Malaysia, Qatar, UAE, Singapore, Hongkong, Philippines and India several times. (Source: Press Release)
