Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited has announced
the launch of MasterCard Islamic debit, credit and prepaid cards in Bangladesh.
Launched at an event organized in the
capital, these cards will be fully compliant to Islamic Shariah laws and will
offer a world of ease for the cardholders. Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, VC
of Asia Pacific University was present as chief guest in this launching
Ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Badiur Rahman, Chairman, Al-Arafah
Islami Bank Ltd while Managing Director Md. Habibur Rahman delivered the
welcome speech. Present at the occasion were Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country
Manager, MasterCard Bangladesh, Gitanka D Datta, Vice President, MasterCard Bangladesh
among various other senior officials.
The event saw the introduction of five
new MasterCard cards in the Bank’s repertoire – the FastCash debit card, La
Riba credit cards in Platinum, Gold and Classic range and La Riba Hajj prepaid
card. These cards will offer the lowest monthly compliance fees, 50 days
without any additional charges, along with discounts at over 600 merchants and
vendors. As an introductory offer all Al Arafah Islami Bank MasterCard holders
will get Buy One & Get complementary buffet iftaar cum dinner free at top
fine dining restaurants at Dhaka & Chittagong, up to 20% discount at 20
fine dining restaurant & up to 40% discount at more than 30 top life style
shops within the country during the month of Ramadan.
